Market Lavender

Gourmet Lavender Scones

1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup corn starch
2 Tbs. sugar
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 teas. salt
1 1/2 teas. baking soda
2 teas. of culinary lavender, or to taste
2/3 cup of buttermilk

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine dry ingredients and cut in butter with a pastry blender. Add buttermilk and knead lightly handling the dough as little as possible. Divide dough in half and shape into balls, slightly flattened. Cut each round into quarters and bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
